Depart Muscat in the morning and drive along the coast towards the city of Sur. After 90 minutes, reach the Wadi Shab entrance from which you will take a short boat ride across the small wadi lake. Then walk into the spectacular wadi canyon amongst steep cliffs, rocks, pools, and fruit plantations. After approximately 45 minutes of trekking you will reach the famous pools.
Here you will change into swimwear, leave your belongings behind, and start swimming and walking into a smaller canyon. After swimming/walking through the water, you will come to the last pool where the water is deep requiring you to swim to cross it. At the end, there is a small gap in the wall which you will swim through into a fantastic cave with a beautiful waterfall inside - this is the highlight of the trip!
After this, swim back and relax in the sun and eat some snacks before walking back to the car. On the way back to Muscat, if there is time, the tour can pass by the Bamah Sinkhole Lake Park for a photo stop. If you don’t wish to swim you are welcome to stay near the first pools where the water is shallow.
Bring sun protection, a hat, good walking shoes, swimwear (if you like), and snacks. You need to be in an average physical condition for this trip.
